Dreaming up your ideal party, event or wedding can be a big task, and sometimes even overwhelming when the options are… limitless. Between your company corporate budget or your personal budget it can be hard to know what is attainable. That’s where the experts come in.
Meet Georgie Barnett, aka Georgie B., Blue Strawberry’s talent Event Stylist. Georgie joined the team to bring our clients ideas and dreams to life. From drawing up your vision to creating digital moodboards, selecting canapé trays to food station set up, Georgie brings an added level of creativity everyone wants. Georgie’s expertise ensures you can have the event of your dreams, all within your parameters.
We sat down with Georgie to discuss her professional background and how she helps the events team create show-stopping events all across London.
I have an extremely artistic background. I studied literature at university and have a healthy obsession with food, cooking and eating. I have also worked previously as an event producer and have loved working with food as a chef and waitress, interacting with people over a shared appreciation of food. My ability to make and take ideas from concept to creation with a passion for the details and the customer experience led me to search for a job which let my love of food, art and people be combined. Lucky for me, my role at Blue Strawberry has encapsulated that entirely.
I often start with researching the client’s preferences and then create mood boards that reflect these desires and elevate them into something new and exciting. I create tablescapes with options for different linens, crockery and dinnerware using interesting colours and palettes bespoke to each event. I then create illustrations of my ideas for stations and trays. It is rewarding to show clients a concept and then follow it through to the actual event. A little creativity can go a long way!
The Blue Strawberry ‘Event Befitting a King’ venue showcase was a fantastic opportunity to exhibit my creativity and, as a team, collectively brainstorm and execute extraordinarily ambitious and exciting ideas – turning a corporate suite into Highgrove Garden and illustrating menus and keepsakes in the style of the Royal coronation invitation, to name a few.

Most of my work with our menus revolves around brainstorming with our Development chef Euan Peach. We discuss plating, colours, textures and anything that makes our food stand out. Take, for instance, our newest Spring Summer 2023 menu, which we had the pleasure of capturing on film – it was a first for Blue Strawberry, and as a business, we’re really proud of the outcome.

Our food is the essential platform from which I launch my ideas. The colours, flavours, heritage and roots, and the event managers’ knowledge of their clients and their preferences and themes combine to create the fundamental sounding board for my ideas.
Let us make it entirely unique with personal touches, big ideas and illustrated menus. Send us your mood board of ideas or your favourite holiday destination or dish – we will take it from there. Inspiration can come from anywhere, and our aim is to make your event exceptional and bespoke.
I like to use Copic markers and fine liner pens to create designs – they are great for translating different shapes, colours and layers of texture. Our Instagram account @bluestrawberry_events showcases numerous ‘From Concept to Creation’ posts, which showcase my illustrations and how we’ve translated them into real life. I’ve also enjoyed creating illustrations for canapé trays, stage set-ups and food stations. The options are endless!

Our chefs have years of experience designing fine dining menus for events of all sorts and our event managers have the expertise needed to combine gastronomic excellence with superior events. Pair this with the visually creative eye of our Event Stylist Georgie and you find yourself in the middle of the most perfect Blue Strawberry event.
