1. Plan ahead - put together all your ideas together in advance, keep a folder for each subject and if you are prepared and organised, planning can be a pleasure.
2. Napkin decorations - add sprigs of seasonal flowers or elegant accessories to your table napkins for a unique finishing touch, such as bookmark tassels, organza ribbon or pretty shells.
3. Refreshing cocktails - a stylish cocktail such as a Poinsettia is a delicious alternative to champagne and don’t forget a non-alcoholic version will also be popular.
4. Flower economy - be clever and creative with your flowers as these can make an enormous impact at both the ceremony and reception. Remember you can use your church flowers for the reception.
5. Pretty lighting – add pea lights to the roof of marquees and ensure your tables are lit beautifully with spot lights, candles and votives.
6. Miniature wedding cake – individual iced cakes are the perfect portion size and a contemporary alternative to a traditional tiered wedding cake.
7. Hand towels and soap - spruce up the venue bathrooms with some fragrant and luxurious products such as scented candles and hand soaps.
8. Pastry buffet –tiers of exquisitely colourful sweet and savoury treats will delight every age and be a welcome snack once the dancing begins.
9. Adding colour – Bridesmaids dresses can be a good starting point on finding a colour theme for flowers, fabrics, accessories and even the icing on the cake!
10. Hanging hat curtain – follow your colour theme by hanging strands of coloured ribbon along the wall and attach ladies wedding hats with a clothes peg.
